Change for Change — When Pennies Make a Difference
UNH Center for Graduate & Professional Studies at Manchester
Manchester, NH– The UNH Center for Graduate & Professional Studies is currently hosting Change for Change, a program to raise funds for the national “Pennies for Peace” campaign. In America, pennies are often found cast aside on the sidewalk. However, in the villages of Pakistan and Afghanistan a penny can buy a pencil, start an education and transform lives in regions where terrorist organizations recruit uneducated, illiterate children.
Pennies for Peace is a program of the Central Asia Institute (CAI) founded by Greg Mortenson, author of the # 1 New York Times best seller "Three Cups of Tea." CAI promotes and provides community-based education and literacy programs in remote mountain regions of Central Asia. CAI has built nearly 100 schools in Afghanistan and Pakistan, which serve more than 28,000 students.
The UNH Center for Graduate & Professional Studies will collect change in the Grad Center lounge, located at 286 Commercial Street, Manchester NH 03101, until May 21st.
The Center offers graduate study options in Business Administration (MBA), Public Administration (MPA) Public Health (MPH and Certificate), Social Work (MSW), Educational Administration & Supervision (MED, CAGS), Counseling (MED) and Teacher Education (MED, MAT) programs. These UNH graduate programs are designed for working professionals who are highly motivated and capable of balancing a full-time work schedule with evening study.
The UNH Center for Graduate & Professional Studies is located at 286 Commercial Street, 4th floor in Manchester's historic Millyard. The mission of the Center is to bring the resources and expertise of UNH to the population and economic center of the state. For more information, visit: www.unhmgrad.unh.edu.
