All of the music events will take place in UNH Manchester’s third floor auditorium. Guests are not required to RSVP. Parking is available in the Arm’s parking lot (pay & display) located behind UNH Manchester. Please call 603-641-4306 at least three weeks in advance if you need special accommodations.
Event Information:
UNH’s Little Red Wagon will perform “The Fisherman and his Wife” on Friday, July 17 at 1:00. This traditional fable tells the story of a simple fisherman and his not so simple wife. Discover what happens when they go from rags to riches in this classic tale. A magic fish with a flair for jazz narrates. With audience participation and colorful costumes, this updated story is sure to be a crowd favorite. Written by Claudia Haas, winner of the 2008 Anna Zornio Playwriting Competition.
The Little Red Wagon theatre troupe performs for children and family audiences at nearly 70 locations each summer and is the longest running nonprofit, children’s theatre tour in the U.S. Founded in 1971, The Little Red Wagon became a grassroots model program for the State of New Hampshire and was instrumental to the introduction of Theatre Education into the public school systems as a supportive tool for reading and learning.
On Thursday, July 23 at 1:00, musicians from the Manchester Community Music School will perform a jazz combo with percussion. Through experimentation with music and sound, performers will connect the young audience to the world of music.
The Manchester Community Music School will perform, “Peter and the Wolf” on Thursday, August 20 at 1:00. The instruments come alive with this fun introduction to classical music and the woodwinds family.
