The Agnes Lindsay STEM Fellowship program recognizes and supports the development of talent among Manchester School District high school students, particularly those who are underrepresented in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
The program’s sponsor, Agnes Lindsay Trust Fund, supports students who promote Agnes M. Lindsay’s legacy of increasing access and engaged participation of “poor and deserving students” in educational programs that improve their lives and pave the way to successful careers.
Fellowship recipients receive high school credit for participation in UNH faculty-led workshops and a hands-on, project-based and mentored experience during the school year and summer at UNH Manchester in the STEM Discovery Lab, campus student support programs, and research laboratories.
UNH STEM Discovery Lab administers the fellowships. A review panel selects the Agnes Lindsay STEM fellows.

Fellowship recipients receive recognition at the UNH Undergraduate Research Conference and 4-H County Activities Day, where they present their fellowship projects.
To be considered for the Agnes Lindsay STEM Fellowship, the applicant must meet the following criteria:
Fellows will be on campus weekly in the winter and spring for a series of faculty-led workshops and will complete reflections after each workshop. Fellows will attend the Winter Symposium in December. During this time, fellows will be matched with UNH undergraduate and graduate student mentors. In winter and spring, fellows will meet regularly with their mentors and work on an independent research project, which they will present at the Hillsborough County 4-H County Activities Day and University of New Hampshire Manchester Undergraduate Research Conference.
In summer 2019, Agnes Lindsay STEM Fellows will have the opportunity to receive a $500 stipend for 40 hours of work in the STEM Discovery Lab, supporting youth programs and activities.

Agnes Lindsay STEM fellows will have a student supporter from the University of New Hampshire at Manchester. Mentoring will begin in late fall and continue through the spring semester.
Supporters for fellowship recipients include students from a variety of STEM fields.
